Crime pays

Today I came across a site expounding some of those shocking viewpoints common amongst my fellow Afrikaners but rarely discussed, in prosperous Afrikaner homes at least. One article did struck a cord. I do not care to expound on some of the other stuff on the site, but this article I tend to agree with for reasons expounded on below.

The negotiated settlement that led to the current political establishment forces the ANC to play according to liberal democratic principles, but it has a historical mandate to establish not only political but also socio-economic equality. Government programs such as Black Economic Empowerment and Affirmative Action have been established for this very reason. Though these are negative practices in that it redistributes pieces of a pie, instead of growing the pie to provide for those that are hungry, it is generally accepted due to common sense and is governed by law.

Unfortunately the ANC also learned other Machiavellian tactics during the struggle – it achieved a righteous target by using dastardly tactics as hinted at by the article. And this is exactly where crime comes in. I suspect that the government is using crime to assist in sharing the pie into ever-smaller pieces.

Middle class South Africans don’t mind burglary and other contact-free crimes  that much. We are all insured. The thieve burglars our television, we claim and are compensated for the theft. Apart from the theft, relatively innocent. Right? Wrong! Think about the dynamics – “haves” paid for two televisions, one for the “haves” and one to be sold by a “used-to-be-have-not” compatriot to the “have-nots” for cheap. By way of joke whites even have a  term for it: Affirmative Shopping.

I agree this is a wild claim, but three events point at its possible validity.

Firstly, the ANC disbanded the stalwart of Afrikaner security – the Kommando system. In times past, every Afrikaner had to be ready to be called up for kommando service to counter perceived security risks. Later it functioned as part of the armed forces and assisted in limiting the ANC’s struggle to mostly the black townships. What did the ANC do in the midst of South Africa’s current crime wave – it disbanded the kommando’s under the pretense that members will be incorporated into the police reservists. Guess what – we are still waiting.

Secondly, the ANC currently has a huge gun control drive to limit everyone to as little firearms as possible. On paper this seams a good idea. However, I grew up on a farm and can attest to the need for personal protection when the nearest policeman is more than ten kilometers away across bad roads. So white farmers are being disarmed while the target of brutal attacks . On the other hand, were there cases where policemen are selling their own service revolvers for money. In a recent article it was reported that the police lost around three thousand guns in 2009. Hence, while the white were disarmed, the criminals were indirectly armed.

Thirdly, the mess connecting former president Thabo Mbeki via the protection of Jackie Selebi, his highest police officer, to the crime kingpin, Glen Agliotti, hints at massive irregularities within Mbeki’s administration. This would not be the first time a government used criminals to do their dirty work for them – Chiang Kai Shek and the Chinese Kuomintang party were dependant on the Green Gang for not only muscling out opposition, but also for financial support. And the ANC used to be a poor party lacking rich supporters. Now it has enriched itself via government contracts (see here for an example) and who knows how else. These days even ANC dignitaries that did not complete school  are living the high life.

Feel free to take above as dribble – I am not even sure I believe it. However sit up and take notice of what follows.

Crime resulted in a humongous private security industry, every thing from car guards at shopping malls to 24/7 neighborhood watches. Crime created jobs. And thousands of them.

If crime were to go away, thousands will go hungry. It follows that until such a time as when the ANC’s administration start to create jobs in significant numbers, it cannot afford to make crime fighting anything but lip service.

However, every time a crime is committed the rainbow shatters more. And the magic – it is long gone.

    Eish!!!
“Secondly, the ANC currently has a huge gun control drive to limit everyone to as little firearms as possible. On paper this seams a good idea.”

Where did any one get this piece of paper you are suggesting exists? From Government? From GFSA? Both are about as reliable as an account of Judaism by the NAZI.

There is NO evidence that ANY gun control laws reduce crime, the supply of guns to criminals or increase public safety. There is no evidence of a causal relationship between levels of firearm ownership and crime. These facts are not difficult to research so why is there so much ignorance?

Apparently history also has no lessons for the present or everyone is just willing to advance a pet theory that ignores history. More that 120 million people died in the last century to provide that history being ignored. The reason they died is because they ignored history.

    Government +disarmament +hate = Genocide

So much easier to say bull, never happen, not here….. must be something else.

The ANC want those guns because any government good or bad has only one ambition. To increase power at any cost. The ANC simply want citizens to be helpless for whatever they plan to increase power. With social manipulation citizens are easy to fool and will believe without checking anything government tells them. Even Hitler said; what good fortune for governments that people are stupid.

It’s not rocket science and nobody can say it has not been happening for thousands of years. We just prefer to live in a make believe world and lie to ourselves because the truth would mean we have to do something about it.
